When the Power of Love Beats the Love of Power the World Knows Peace — rising now?
What it is
Meme that exploded on July 1, 2026, when rooftopper couple Angela Nikolau and Ivan Beerkus climbed the Empire State Building spire and unfurled a banner with the adapted Jimi Hendrix quote 'When the power of love beats the love of power, the world knows peace.' The clash between a daredevil illegal climb and a peace message went viral, spawning edits of the climb footage, sentimental and satirical overlays of the quote, and comment parodies ('actually kind of awesome…'). The phrase itself is reused as captions and audio, including in political satire. On-topic: edits or parodies using this climb or the quote; plain Jimi Hendrix music clips or unrelated quote readings do not count.
